Issues Matter

It's more important than ever that the families of District 85 have a committed, experienced leader speaking for them in Des Moines. I’ve been personally fighting for my community for years because my neighbors are the priority. From raising the minimum wage to bringing intracity transit to North Liberty, I know that issues matter. I care about the issues impacting you, like having food on the table, a living wage and ensuring your utilities stay on. While the issues below are just a few I support, I’m fighting for you at the Capitol.

Healthcare Access

I believe each Iowan should have access to quality healthcare services no matter their location. I championed the rural emergency medical services (EMS) bill through the House in 2021 and it was later signed by the governor. Healthcare access goes beyond just EMS and also encompasses mental health services and the ability to see a doctor without breaking the bank.

 Voting Rights

I believe access to the ballot box is essential for everyone to participate in our democratic process and support voting rights for all citizens.

Early Education and Children

I believe education and access to quality education is a right each Iowan has. As the mother of three children in the public school system, I’ve seen the effects of underfunding and the strain it puts on our teachers, staff, and administrators. It’s time we truly invest in our children and stop the war on our schools.

Support for Local Governments

I believe that local governments know their communities best and should be empowered to make the best decisions for themselves. As the North Liberty Mayor, I’ve seen up close the effects of inadequate funding and support from the state legislature. Serving on the Local Government Committee in the Iowa House, I’m working to provide much needed assistance so that our local governments can build and invest in infrastructure, provide essential services to their community and restore local control.
